Shibori @ Forever Fields

This half day, hands-on workshop gives you an introduction to shibori techniques and hands-on support to obtain stunning patterns with simple folding and binding.

• How do I prepare fabric & yarn for dyeing?
• How do I fold and bind my fabric to achieve different patterns and designs?
• How do I use a dye bath to dye my items?
• How do I store, clean and care for my naturally dyed pieces?

The workshop fee is £60 per person with a £40 – £60 sliding scale concession for low income customers.
All materials are provided. This includes a 50cm square scarf in a choice of cotton or a light weight wool gauze as well as a 50g skein of yarn , either British wool or responsibly sourced plant fibres.
You may bring along up to 100g of additional natural fibres to dye at the workshop. We do also sell a small range of additional items for dyeing including merino wool and cotton baby grows, mohair neck scarves, cotton blouses, bandanas, ribbons and wool yarn. These have all been scoured and mordanted in preparation for dyeing. The prices range from £10 to £25 per item.

Based in the outdoor workshop, we will have some shade and shelter from the elements, but you will need to dress appropriately for the weather on the day. Fruit and water will be provided as refreshments.
