There is now an abundance of evidence that corporate social media owners are putting their thumb on the algorithmic scale. Between increasing the visibility of far-right viewpoints, shadowbanning content with external links, and the disintermediation of media orgs through AI-based summary results, it is an incredibly challenging time to be in the news business.

There is one bright spot, however: ATProto.
