Entertaining Bad Vibes: samtalsserie

Entertaining Bad Vibes är en samtalsserie och podcast sprungen ur en längtan efter fördjupade samtal inom den svenska teatern och beröringspunkter mellan scenen, teori och andra estetiska fält. Det är en container för kritiska konversationer som ägnar sig åt ämnen som ofta i en svensk (teater)kontext associeras med något negativt såsom kritiskt tänkande, motstånd, ekonomiska relationer, institutionskritik eller intellektualism.

Gäst: Henrike Kohpeiß

Henrike Kohpeiß is a philosopher, working primarily in the fields of critical theory, philosophy of emotion, Black Studies, feminist philosophy and aesthetics.

She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Leuphana Transformation Lab, studying affects of Transformation, the relationship between crises and transformation and the notion of Transformation Literacy.

In her current project Respect for Reality, she seek to understand the social affective dynamics that lead to a derealization of the global ecological crisis. She initiates a dialogue between different methodologies like psychoanalysis, decolonial critique of extractivism, phenomenology and aesthetics of devastation in order to generate insights into the current experience of planetary collapse.

She was formerly employed at the CRC “Affective Societies” at Free University, Berlin (2019-2025), where she completed her doctoral degree in Philosophy with summa cum laude. The book resulting from this work was published in 2023 (Campus) and released as "Bourgeois Coldness" in English translation in 2025 (divided).

She studied philosophy and applied theatre studies in Berlin, Rome, Vienna and Gießen. Her work and teaching are currently focused on critical theory, institutions, theories of affect and capitalism and psychoanalysis. In addition to her academic research, she organize and host events at Volksbühne Berlin and other venues.

Om samtalsserien

I en tid av historiskt låga statliga stöd till den fria kulturen, utbrett kultur- och bildningsförakt och accelererande instrumentalisering vill Entertaining Bad Vibes bli ett diskursivt ankare som gör plats för svåra samtal i ett lättillgängligt format. Seriens avsnitt koncentreras runt ett specifikt tema som ibland uttryckligen handlar om någon aspekt av (svenskt) teaterliv och ibland förhåller de sig till bredare kulturella och teoretiska yttringar. De medverkande är sammansatta för att olika kunskapsområden och positioner ska komma i dialog med varandra, inte utifrån en naiv idé om att ”ta debatten” utan för att skapa en plats där olika perspektiv och expertis kan höja ribban på samtalet. Samtalen sker en gång i månaden under tre kvällar i höst och kommer efteråt finnas tillgängliga som podcast.
