π Meeting Point: Victoria Park π³ Baroness Burdett-Coutts Drinking Fountain (also known as the Victoria Fountain E9 7DD).
Iβll be at the fountain to welcome early arrivals between 2:00pm and 2:30pm π The picnic will be set up nearby the fountain.

Summer meet-ups will be free while I focus on building the community and refining the experience I create as a host. The next paid event will take place in October.

Culture & Conversations Picnic is a welcoming space to connect with others, share stories, learn about different cultures, and build community.

π Bring Along Something Meaningful
Youβre invited to bring something that represents a culture you belong to β€οΈ, admire π, or simply appreciate β¨. It could be:
π A favourite travel experience or destination that has inspired you.
πΆ Music, artwork, an instrument, or a small cultural item.
π² A homemade dish or favourite cultural food.
πΈ A photograph, keepsake, or meaningful object that tells your story.
π Traditional clothing, accessories, or an item that represents your culture.
π A family tradition, memory, or cultural story youβd like to share.
π A favourite book, poem, or saying from your culture.
There are no right or wrong answers come ready to listen, share, learn, and connect. β€οΈ
Taking place the Sunday before Notting Hill Carnival π, this picnic is inspired by the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival celebrating culture π, community π€, togetherness π, and diversity π. Letβs come together through kindness π, curiosity β¨, respect π, and meaningful connection β€οΈπ€.

π 2:00pm to 2:30pm | Meet at the Baroness Fountain
πMeet at the Burdett-Coutts Memorial Drinking Fountain (Baroness Fountain) in Victoria Park. This is a chance to arrive, say hello, and walk over to our picnic spot together. π
π 2:30pm to 2:50pm | Welcome & Introduction from Event Host Mutia ππΎββοΈ
Iβll introduce myself, share why I created this meetup, explain the vision behind it, and answer any questions before we begin.
π I will further explain the purpose of the event.
π€ Create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive space.
π£οΈ Explain the conversations will work, including speaking times (based on attendance).
π₯ Give brief overview of the introductions and discussion format.
β Answer any questions.
π£οΈ 2:50pm to 5:30pm Group Introductions, Cultural Sharing & Food π±ππ
Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and, if theyβd like, share:
π Their cultural background or heritage.
β€οΈ A tradition, custom, story, or experience thatβs meaningful to them.
πΆ Music, clothing, language, celebrations, or anything unique about their culture.
π΄ Any food, snacks, or treats theyβve brought to share (optional).
β¨ Anything else theyβd like the group to know.
Take your time, ask questions, listen with curiosity, and enjoy learning from one another. The aim is to create meaningful conversations, celebrate our diversity, and connect through shared experiences not just through food.

Weβll round off the evening with:

π§± Giant Jenga for some fun and laughter.
