About This Event

Perimenopause and menopause are often framed as a slow decline. But underneath the hot flashes, mood shifts, and changes in libido is a body and a brain reorganizing themselves, and that reorganization holds real openings for reclaiming pleasure, intimacy, and aliveness.

In this 90-minute webinar, we'll explore what's actually happening hormonally and neurologically during this transition: the shifts in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, and the roles oxytocin and serotonin play in our access to pleasure and connection, plus where conventional medicine tends to stop short.

We'll also look at what's emerging at the intersection of psychedelic medicine and midlife hormonal health, specifically how psilocybin is being studied and used to support mood, the nervous system, and sexual vitality during perimenopause and menopause. This is a space to understand your own hormonal and neurological landscape, meet the identity shifts of this transition with more clarity, and leave with practical tools you can start using right away to tend to your body and awaken pleasure and softness.

What We'll Explore

The biology of transition We'll begin with the mechanisms, what actually happens hormonally and neurologically during perimenopause and menopause, and why this phase can feel so destabilising. Mood shifts, cognitive changes, disrupted sleep, altered sense of self: these are not just inconveniences. They are physiological events, and understanding them changes everything.

Hormones and the erotic body Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone don't just regulate cycles and fertility, they shape lubrication, sensation, and desire. Oxytocin and serotonin add another layer: oxytocin drives bonding, trust, and the capacity to feel safe enough to be touched, while serotonin shapes mood and the nervous system's baseline for pleasure. When these systems shift in perimenopause, so does access to intimacy, and understanding the mechanism is the first step to working with it rather than against it.

Psychedelics, and why they're interesting here Psychedelics work, in part, by increasing neuroplasticity, quieting the default mode network, and opening windows of psychological flexibility. As it turns out, the hormonal brain of perimenopause is also in a period of profound change. We'll look at the mechanisms of psychedelic action and explore why this intersection is attracting serious scientific attention, along with real case studies of women who have used microdosing practices to reconnect with intimacy, sensation, and pleasure.

A practice, not just a lecture Dr. Roopan, OB-GYN, will lead a live breathwork practice designed to increase energy flow and oxygenation in the body, a practice shown to increase pleasure and sensation.

A toolkit to take home You'll leave with practical resources you can begin using immediately to tend to your body and support pleasure and softness in daily life.
