About

Echoes from the East Sound Meditation

An immersive mystical soundscape weaving Japanese shakuhachi flute with deep dragon gong and magical handpan, evoking sense of ancient remembrance

Join us for an immersive evening of a mystical soundscape with influences from the East, weaves by sound artists Looking Flutes, Oyu and Twodogs.

Shakuhachi is an ancient Japanese bamboo flute that is known for its evocative sound to stir your soul. The unpredictability of the traditional melodies allow the mind to rest and the soul to follow its sound to journey into the unknown. Arran Burton from Looking Flutes, a flute maker himself, is one of the very few shakuhachi players in the UK that has learnt to play the Shakuhachi from the Japanese tradition.

Oyu is a ritual sound artist who weaves storytelling, ancestral vocal and mystical soundscapes into living prayers that facilitate awakening and personal transformation. Through the power of a deep dragon gong, she creates a grounded and safe container where nervous system softens and inner landscape opens.

Twodog SeemanHo is a multidisciplinary artist. Her practice involves installation art, painting, performance art, text, sculpture, moving image, sound art and sound therapy.

She has performed her handpan music in London since 2020. She composes handpan music with her poems for various art events. Her presence and her music bring lightness and a sense of wonder in the space she holds.
