Sorrows of the World

A Grief Tending Day for Planet, People & the More-Than-Human World

We warmly invite you to join us for a day of community grief tending dedicated to exploring our relationship with the Earth, each other, and ourselves during these uncertain and changing times.

Many of us are carrying a quiet sorrow for the world — grief for disappearing species, damaged ecosystems, war, injustice, disconnection, collapsing communities, and the uncertainty of the future. We may also carry grief for the loss of belonging, simplicity, safety, culture, or the feeling that the world we hoped to leave for future generations is becoming increasingly fragile.

Yet much of this grief goes unspoken.

In a fast-paced and pain-avoidant culture, there are few spaces where we are encouraged to honestly acknowledge the emotional impact of what we are witnessing collectively. As a result, many people carry feelings of overwhelm, helplessness, numbness, anxiety, anger, or despair in isolation.

Inspired by the work of Francis Weller and the growing movement of community grief tending, this workshop offers a compassionate and grounded space to gently meet the sorrows we carry — not as problems to fix, but as meaningful expressions of our love and connection to life.

We believe grief is not something to move away from, but something that, when honoured in community, can deepen our sense of belonging, restore connection, and awaken a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

Throughout the day, we will be supported by the presence of Sacred Oils, lovingly offered by Hannah Graceful Dawn during the sharing circles and guided meditations. These ancient plant allies will help create a gentle and nourishing container for reflection, connection, and emotional tending.

During the Day You Will Be Invited To:

• Explore grief through guided creative and embodied practices including gentle movement, art, nature connection, and earth-based ritual
• Share within a gently facilitated and confidential group space
• Honour personal and collective grief connected to the climate crisis, ecological loss, conflict, injustice, and cultural disconnection
• Experience simple grief tending rituals inspired by community-based approaches to healing
• Reflect on ways to stay connected to gratitude, beauty, and meaning alongside sorrow
• Develop simple practices for tending grief in everyday life

No previous experience with grief work, movement, or creative practice is needed. You are welcome exactly as you are.

What to Expect

• A welcoming and low-pressure environment
• Gentle facilitation with invitations rather than expectations
• Solo reflection, small group sharing, and collective ritual
• Opportunities for rest, grounding, and time in nature
• A nourishing vegan and gluten-free meal shared together in community

Spaces are limited to 15 and booking is essential.

We look forward to welcoming you into this shared space of reflection, honesty, connection, and collective care.

Much Love,

Lucy, Emmelaine & Hannah
