About

ODE TO THE ORCHARD!

Gather for a weekend exploring regenerative craft and foraging practices with Iona and Juliet!

Weave in the orchard with a nomadic style back-strap loom to craft a beautiful scarf, womb belt, or strap.

Learn to spin wool and experiment with natural dye!

Spend time foraging edible and medicinal plants and making healing balms!

Weave stories of camp community and connection into your fabric and craft something sacred, made with your own hands!

What to expect?

Expect a creative, fun and supportive camp culture with check-ins, wholesome foraged group dinners, self-reflection time, plant meditations/drawings, evening camp bonfires and a creative group opening and closing ceremony!!

You will be camping in a beautiful orchard a short walk along the canal from the cabin!

We value facilitating in a way that is emergent, responding to the world around us, giving space for curiosity and play-fullness. There will be a relaxed structure, allowing you to switch off and be guided by us. Each morning we will gather in circle, head off for a foraging walk and spend the afternoon getting crafty and creative!

Our craft cabin for the weekend!

Who are we?

We have been dreaming of hosting community workshops together since we first met at a festival five years ago! The moment has finally arisen and we cant wait to meet you all!!

We are both in a process of understanding what it means to root down and develop place-based knowledge. Our shared experience is that from staying still, we have developed awe and trust for the plants and materials that surround us. We feel that a committed relationship, awakens a culture of care, allowing us to understanding the intricate web of life within every ecosystem.

Our work aims to heal a ruptured relationship with the living world through the practice of crafts/foraging/herbalism. We hope this weekend provides space to deepen that connection and support our collective journey, towards stewarding the land in a non-hierarchical way.

Iona is a intuitive herbalist, wild potter, crafting beautiful ceremonial pots from locally dug clay. She spends her time caring for the land at Viaduct Barn and is busy establishing a community project there! She holds local foraging walks and loves to share the magic of edible and medicinal plants!

Juliet is a regenerative crafter and creative facilitator, initiating - ‘The Craft that Reconnects.’ She loves foraging materials and sharing seasonal community craft workshops, which she hopes encourage people to become resourceful and resilient through crafting, whilst learning to heal local landscapes. She studied ‘Engaged Ecology’ at Schumacher where she became inspired to teach rural craft.

“Black ash and basket makers are partners in a symbiosis between harvesters and harvested: ash relies on people as the people rely on ash. Their fates are linked.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer,
