About
Emerg:e – Dancing between Land and Body
Facilitated by Franzis Salomo
“When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.”- Tuli Kupferberg
Body, land, and world are inseparable.
What happens when we suspend habitual doing and allow attention to move with the subtle textures of body, landscape, and memory?
In this workshop, movement emerges through direct relationship with sensation, space, imagination, and the living environment. Like the ripples that spread when a stone is thrown into the sea, we follow how motion unfolds outward and inward – being deformed, dissolved, and re-formed according to what is present.
Drawing from Butoh, somatic practices, and poetry, we explore the body as an anarchive: a site of memory, imagination, and vast poetic potential.
Through guided movement scores, improvisation, and attentive listening, participants will cultivate sensitivity to inner and outer landscapes, discovering unexpected forms, pathways, and necessities.
The workshop includes both indoor and outdoor explorations.
No previous experience is required. Open to anyone curious about movement, presence, and the creative relationship between body and world.

Franzis Salomo
Born in 1991 in Altenburg, a city in the former GDR, my artistic practice is shaped by the socio-political circumstances I was born into — a time of change, transition and unanswered questions. My body remembers this movement between old and new values, between fixed structures and the in-between.
My artistic work moves precisely in these in-between spaces.I explore how the visible and the invisible touch each other, how personal stories are interwoven with political realities. In my movement practice, I search for embodied knowledge, for new ways of dancing with contradictions. Trained in Butoh, Somatics and Martial Arts, I have been influenced by Minako Seki, Atsushi Takenouchi, Maruska Ronchi, Yuko Kaseki, Alexander Carillo, Shannon Cooney, and Marie Bardet. I see the body as a site of resistance, transformation, and relational knowledge.
As Co-Funder of the project maiz brasil, I engage in transnational dialogues on agroecology and climate justice, bridging activism and art as guides into regenerative futures.
