About
In the merry month of May the world comes alive with fervent energy and trilling birdsong. Dandelions roar in the borders, daisies dance in the lawn and bumblebees bounce amidst the bluebells. This is the time to celebrate Beltane, the Celtic festival which heralds the summer. A time for fire, frolicking and outright flirting.
So with nature all a-twitter we thought we’d share some seasonal twitterings of our own; fiery, exuberant tales to tickle the senses and set your heart a-blaze.
Our carnival of Beltane stories are suitable for all ages, with plenty of laughs for adults.
This special event with Dartmoor storytellers ** Henry Everett** and **Hannah Sneyd ** promises a vivid array of stories formed through deep communion with the landscape. Blending traditional tales from around the world with original stories, games and song, we curate our events to closely match the energy of the season.
Our location is a glorious green space at the bottom of Deadmans Corner, roughly 10minutes walk west of New Bridge car park - we will send full details with your booking confirmation. We recommend arriving at 10:30am to allow plenty of time to park, walk to the location and settle in.
Things to note: This is a family-friendly event, with a 20-minute interval mid-way through. There won't be food or drink for sale this time, but you are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy your lunch alfresco with us! Please bring along rugs or a sheepskin if you'd like something to sit on.
Your hosts:

**Henry Everett ** is an earth-loving artist, writer, storyteller and poet. Henry tells stories across the country and can be found at festivals, schools, pubs, fields and woodlands. Author of ‘Pixie Folk Tales’ an anthology of traditional folk tales of the infamous South West magical characters, published by the History Press 2025.

**Hannah Sneyd ** is a storyteller and healer based on Dartmoor. She creates original stories and shares folk tales from around the world. She performs around the South West and runs Stories and Stars - a monthly storytelling event in Plymouth.
