About
Singing workshops for everyone at Mill Field Forest Garden.
Come and sing simple, uplifting, nature-inspired songs, taught by ear (no need to read music!), sung in rounds and harmony parts.
Immerse yourself in the beautifully tended, volunteer-run forest garden on the edge of Watermead Park.
About the afternoon :
Arrive from 1:50pm to begin promptly at 2pm
Aurélie will guide you through gentle movement and breath to allow you to arrive fully in the space and loosen the body in preparation to sing, and vocal exercises and a warm-up song to get the vocal chords ready!
Louise and Aurélie will teach 4-5 songs that are simple enough to learn by ear, to allow you to focus on the sounds and the connection of the parts and how great we sound when we all come together in harmony.
There will be a 15 minute break for tea and to talk to others, and to explore the garden (please no picking produce :) )
We will round up the afternoon by having one final sing of each song and say our goodbyes at 4pm.
For adults, accompanied children welcome.
About your facilitators:
Louise has been singing in choirs and small groups for more than 30 years. She is experienced in leading regular singing groups and one off workshops. “Harmony is my passion!”
Aurélie loves to sing accompanied by a guitar, but in recent years has found extra joy singing with others! In the last year she has been guiding people to explore their voices and learn songs together in harmony. “It's all about community and connecting people!”
Accessibility:
Be aware that this is an outdoor space next to the canal on the edge of Watermead Park. Depending on the weather in the days leading up to the event, it may be muddy! Please wear appropriate footwear for your comfort. Not all paths are paved.
We will be outdoors, so dress for the weather. There is shelter in case of light rain.
There is an accessible compost toilet in the garden.
