About

Conflict is an unavoidable part of life. Ruptures happen despite our best intentions. What often impacts us most is what happens next! Within queer lives and marginalised communities, we often hold both belonging and wounding. This half-day workshop offers space to explore accountability, community care, and reconnection after rupture.

Do you struggle to have difficult conversations? This is for you if you have a tendency to withdraw or to come out fighting when conflict arises. This is for you if there is an apology you might need to give or to hear (be it disconnected from the event or the person that caused the rupture), in a space where you can feel held and validated in your feelings.

Two sessions will explore both the nuts and bolts of repair, through the “How to have A-RANT” structure – a gentle space to explore what it means to stay present when something has torn or frayed – as well as an experiential practice using the Languages of Apology. We’ll explore tools for remaining in relationship during and after rupture – rooted in community care, accountability and the possibility of reconnection.

Queer-led by Kirstine Weaver and Bear Phillips.

Cost
We are offering a sliding scale for this half-day workshop:

  • £24 (We’ve got you)
  • £37 (General admission)
  • £45 (Spread the love)

But we don’t want finances to be a barrier, so please contact us directly as we believe in a no-one-turned-away-for-lack-of-funds approach.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, as many in Brighton tend to be, the venue is not accessible to wheelchair users, being located on the first floor of The Actors building with stair access only.

Having said that, please let us know if you have any access needs that we can support you with. For those with invisible disabilities, we’ll make every effort to provide a range of seating, and to be mindful of neurodivergent needs.

Kirstine Weaver
Kirstine (she/they) is a certified sexological bodyworker and somatic healer, supporting neurodivergent and other trauma impacted folk in their journey towards wholeness. She has lived experience of chronic illness, has gone on a deep dive in exploring their relationship with gender identities, and uses labels such as queer, AuDHD, co-parent, ENM (ethically non-monogamous), disabled in spaces where labels can be helpful.

Bear Phillips
Bear (he/ him) is a trauma-informed bodyworker and intimacy coach, supporting individuals, couples and thruples in expanding pleasure, exploring authentic relating, and deepening into intimacy. He is a queer, cishet, able-bodied male of mixed heritage (and immigrant experience), unmasking in later life as Autistic and ADHD.
