Session 2 : Making charm/medicine pouches for protection with Jeanie Ireland

This session invites participants to create small leather charm/amulet pouch intended for protection and grounding during protest action. Through a mindful, hands-on process, we’ll practice “Spirit Crafting,” bringing focus, care, and intention into each step of the making. Participants will create their own pouch, filling it with mugwort and St John’s wort—herbs long associated with protection, courage, and clarity. The act of crafting becomes a quiet ritual: a moment to slow down, set purpose, and imbue the finished pouch with personal meaning, resilience, and resolve to carry into collective action.
