SINGING THE RIVER - 6 session vocal journey for women

5am Tuesday morning. My alarm sounds and I haul myself out of bed onto my floor cushion. Still half asleep, I light a candle and open my harmonium. I take a breath, absorbing the early morning silence, and exhale as the rich texture of sound fills my room, my body, my mind, my consciousness. As my breath syncs with the rhythm of the bellows, I begin a simple incantation to the earth, to the day, to myself: my root note… ‘Saaaarr.’

This simple practice of toning ‘Sar’ became my meditation, my home base, and the beginning of my path to more strength and confidence. Through steady vocal practice, I built a stronger, fuller, more embodied, and more alive version of myself and I’m excited to share some of these teachings in this six-week journey.

Our voices carry unique vibrations, reflections of our inner selves. Yet many of us carry stories that silence our expression—“I can’t sing,” “I’m not good enough.” This journey invites you to release those old stories and reconnect with the authentic sound that is uniquely yours.

Over six weeks, you’ll explore your voice through the lens of powerful archetypes:

• The Sage: Listen deeply to your inner wisdom and release what no longer serves you.
• The Magician: Open to creativity and transformation, reclaiming your authentic expression.
• The Warrior: Build confidence and courage, stepping boldly into your voice.
• The Lover: Connect with passion and vulnerability, deepening your relationship with yourself and others.

Through song, sound meditation, play, and reflection, you’ll move beyond perfectionism and silence to discover a voice flowing freely with joy, empowerment, and connection to the divine source within and without—the eternal river of inspiration.

Whether you sing professionally or simply long to speak or sing with confidence, this journey will guide you to a deeper, richer relationship with your voice and with yourself.

This 6 session journey has been created especially for women on low incomes who might not otherwise be able to access this kind of ongoing creative and emotional support. Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, this opportunity is being offered in an accessible and affordable way.
