About

This mini day-retreat alternates between nondual meditation and movement , between silence and sound. It's a chance to explore how each can inform the other.

The aim is to integrate meditation with expression, linking the insights of nonduality with a rich and engaged life. An invitation to connect with an already present stillness and peace, and express from that place of unbound possibility.

We consider the possibility that the peace, creativity and wisdom we often seek without can be found within…

_ **What if the mind was naturally peaceful and quiet? ** _

The nondual understanding invites us to consider that peace is an already present feature of our being.

For example, if you watch the space through which thoughts come and go, you can quickly notice that many leave an echo, but none leave a mark. Thought is like the writing on water. The mind is to thought as the sky is to clouds.

Together we'll explore nondual meditations that deepen awareness into its own natural qualities. Spaciousness. Creativity. Presence and Peace. You’ll have the opportunity to express in your own words the nature of your own awareness.

_ ** Silence and Sound** _
_ Meditation and movement _

_ **What if the body already knew how it needed to move? ** _

Just like a cat knows exactly how it needs to stretch, perhaps your body knows how it needs to move.

It is already dancing an intricate play of breath, digestion and cell division faster, than thought could ever track.

We will start the day inspired by this inner wisdom, inviting movement based on what the moment invites and what the body longs for. It's a space to drop in and connect with the wisdom that comes before words.

_ **And what if our voices were naturally free? ** _

With tiny lungs and no vocal training, a baby can fill a room with sound, yet as adults, so many can struggle to be heard.

With a quieter mind and softer body, we'll make an opportunity for the unbound expression of the voice for its own sake, pointing always back to the silence from which it emerges and to which it returns.

Participation and expression is always optional. This isn't a performance, its an exploration.

_ **You are welcome to either participate or just be present to any of these invitations. ** _

**The day will also include silent sits. **

The Venue

|

The Meditatio Centre is a vibrant and welcoming oasis in the hub of London. It is open to people from all walks of life, from any religious, spiritual or secular tradition. It has regular meditation sessions and teaching on the practice and hosts an annual programme of events to explore the deeper dimensions of life.

They host events that look at the contemplative aspects of modern living: science, the arts, business, the environment, interfaith and the mystical core of Christianity. Workshops enliven the space – yoga, movement, poetry, dance – local artists are also invited to exhibit their work.
