About

Imbolc / Celtic Mini Retreat

A celebration of the Celtic turning of the Wheel of the Year to Imbolc , often translated as “in the belly.” This seasonal threshold invites us to ask:

Where am I lacking nourishment?

What is quietly growing within me?

About the Event

Join us for a 5 hour mini retreat as we weave together Celtic folklore, somatic practices, and energy alchemy to honour this powerful seasonal portal.

At Imbolc, life is stirring beneath the surface, though winter has not yet released its hold. The days are lengthening, and the land is fertile with possibility as we move through the final stretch of the dark, inward, reflective, yin half of the year.

Imbolc is guided by Brigid , the Celtic goddess of hearth fire, sacred wells, poetry, healing, midwifery, and craft. A triple goddess later woven into history as Saint Brigid, she is the central deity of this season — the midwife flame who tends what is growing unseen Brigid does not demand clarity or action. She offers warmth, protection, and nourishment while we are still becoming.

This 5-hour immersion is an incubation space — not to have everything figured out, but to soften into alignment as we move toward the fuller emergence of spring at Ostara. Expect an afternoon devoted to nourishment, exploring the many ways we can feel held, nurtured, and supported while still in this womb-like seasonal pause — offering a gentle, lighter beginning to the new season.

The retreat is divided into Mind, Body, and Soul , designed to nourish the nervous system and offer practical take-home practices to support you through the season ahead. Together we will explore Celtic seasonal wisdom, self-reflection, and embodied movement to gently shift body-held patterns, restore balance, and cultivate a sense of inner holding. Through the sacred triad of mind, body, and soul, we’ll explore:

Mind

Learning about the Celtic Wheel of the Year and the seasonal wisdom of Imbolc

Reflection and inquirythis is not the time for action plans, but for gently sensing what wants to change, soften, or be born later in the cycle

Meditation and centring practices rooted in stillness, listening, and inner warmth

Creative and poetic practices inspired by Brigid as goddess of poetry, voice, and creative inspiration

Body

Breathwork to support nervous system regulation and a sense of safety

Vocal practices for expression, release, and emotional nourishment. Hum, chant, and vibrate through the body to awaken clarity, expression, via emotional freedom technique, tapping and nervous system reset practices.

Polyvagal micro-movements and self-massage practices you can take home

Belly dancing as a womb-centred, nourishing movement practice

Soul

Kundalini Energy Alignment Receive a powerful energetic activation to awaken life force, be in a deep meditative state to open connection, creative insight and deep nourishment to the physical and energetic layers to integrate the journey.

Somatic and embodied exploration of Imbolc’s with Brigid as our guide

Water Blessing from the Healing waters of Glastonbury Chalice Well

A closing ritual to carry nourishment, warmth, and intention forward through Imbolc toward Ostara and Beltane

Expect an afternoon of pause, nurturing, reflection, embodiment, and reconnection.
Together, we’ll honour not having it all figured out but to show up for ourselves, embrace the ongoing wisdom of winter, and start the questions and inquiry of where we want to springboard ourselves for Ostara at the Spring Equinox. Tending to our creative spark and inner fire

FAQs

1. What is the Imbolc? I mbolc is an ancient Celtic festival celebrated around February 1st, marking the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, symbolizing the first stirrings of spring, the return of light, purification, and new life. Celebrated by Pagans and historically by Gaels, it involves cleansing rituals, lighting fires/candles, storytelling, and honoring Brigid, often seen as a time for new projects, reflection, and preparing for growth.

2. What is Kundalini Activation? Kundalini Activation involves tapping into your life force energy, often symbolised as a coiled serpent at the base of the spine. Through this yin practice, this energy is awakened and aligned to flow freely through your body and it is your opportunity to surrender. During this session you can express and release in a multitude of different ways and the KA transmission can lead to profound transformation, clarity, and a heightened sense of self-awareness.

This is a gentle energy alignment session which meets you exactly where you need at that point in time. During KA you may experience some movement, emotions, visualisations, feelings of hot and cold to name a few.

3. What is Somatic Movement? Somatic Movement is a form of embodied practice that emphasises connecting with your body’s innate wisdom. It involves gentle, intentional movements that release stress, break old patterns, and foster a deeper sense of physical and emotional well-being. It’s about tuning in and building awareness of the signals your body sends.

4. What can I expect in terms of benefits following this event? Expect to feel rejuvenated, balanced, and more connected to your mind, body, and soul. The activities—like intention setting, somatic movement, and high-vibrational sound experiences—will help you release stress, ignite your passion, and foster creativity. You might leave with a sense of clarity, purpose, and renewed energy for the season ahead.

5. What if I can't dance? No worries at all! This event is for everyone, regardless of their dancing experience. Belly dancing, for example, is introduced as a playful and empowering practice, with no pressure to be a pro. It’s all about connecting with your body and embracing the joy of movement in a supportive, non-judgmental space.

6. What should I bring or do ahead of the ceremony?

  • Journal for reflection
  • Warm layers and cover up for the energetic part of the session
  • Shawl or blanket to wrap in case cold
  • Water and snacks if required
  • Eat light and if possible avoid highly processed foods, alcohol and caffeine
  • Scarf for your waist to tie around for the belly dancing
