🎭 Clown & Ritual: A Weekend Workshop in London

🗓 Feb 21–22, 2026

📍 Rosemary Branch Theatre, London
⏰ Sat & Sun | 11am–5pm
💸 £155 Earlybird / £175–£200 Sliding Scale

**A practical, embodied weekend for artists, performers, facilitators, and curious humans ready to explore creative risk, deep play, and the rich intersection of expression, presence, and intention. **

Led by international performer + coach Zuma Puma, this workshop draws on 18+ years of clown training, ritual theatre, somatic practice, ceremony and psychomagic to support you in expanding your voice, presence, and creative depth — onstage and, more importantly, in every area of your life.

🔥 You’ll Explore:

  • The fundamentals of contemporary clowning
  • The foundations of Zuma’s Clown & Ritual pedagogy
  • Somatic + expressive movement as a gateway to creative freedom
  • Clowning as a tool for personal and artistic development
  • Ritual-based performance practices rooted in presence and meaning
  • Improvisation, intuitive response, and audience awareness
  • Tools to stay empowered, grounded, and free under pressure
  • Group work, creative risk-taking, and play-based learning
  • A space for all parts of you — wild, tender, messy, brilliant — to be seen and expressed
  • Resources to support re-patterning beliefs that no longer serve you
  • Practices to strengthen your connection to life through joy and embodiment
  • Frameworks that support vulnerability, depth, and real relating
  • And above all… the permission to have a ridiculously good time while exploring the humour, chaos, and beauty in your world

💫 This workshop is for you if:

  • You’re a performer, storyteller or artist wanting to break old patterns and access more freedom, nuance, and risk on stage
  • You’re a coach, therapist, facilitator or space-holder looking for fresh, embodied ways to access presence, play, and creative flow
  • You want to feel more confident, grounded and playful in how you show up — on stage, in work, or in your personal life
  • You’re curious about clowning, but not the gimmicky kind — you’re craving something with depth, rigour, and real transformation
  • You feel disconnected from your creative spark, and want to rekindle it in an honest, expressive, and emotionally safe space
  • You’re seeking guidance in accessing your inner insights and intuitive truth — beyond the analytical mind
  • You’ve been feeling stuck, numb or burnt out — and are yearning for a repatterning into joy, clarity and self-expression
  • You want to deepen your relating skills, feel more authentic in connection, and explore vulnerability through embodied play
  • You’re ready to let go of needing to “perform” — and instead want to show up as your full, weird, wild and true self
  • You long to be in a space where everything you are — your voice, body, humour, sadness, brilliance — is welcomed

** What people say:**

"Rare to find a space so full of risk, laughter, rigour, depth and play — all at once. I left with creative breakthroughs and a new trust in myself."

About Zuma:

Zuma Puma is an internationally recognised clown performer, creative coach, and facilitator with over 18 years of training. Since 2016 she has run hundreds of workshops and retreats internationally and is known for supporting artists and facilitators unlock their expression through a unique blend of clown, ritual theatre, ceremony, somatic practice, and performance. Zuma has trained with over 50 leading clown teachers worldwide, including full-time schooling with Philippe Gaulier (Paris), Francine Côté (Cirque du Soleil, Montréal), and Sue Morrison (Pochinko Clown Through Mask, Toronto). She is the founder of Clownlife, a pedagogy exploring clowning as a pathway to radical aliveness, performance mastery, and soul-centred connection.

In addition to her performance and facilitation background, Zuma is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Certified Embodied Dreamwork Facilitator. Her work is shaped by ongoing apprenticeships in shamanic practice, ceremony, process work, energy healing, and ritual theatre, which she weaves seamlessly into her teaching.

She has held spaces across the UK, Europe, North America , Central America, South America and Australia for the last 10 years— blending humour and depth, wildness and precision, play and transformation. Zuma’s approach is rigorous, intuitive, and deeply human — designed for those who want to live, lead, and create with more courage, honesty, and creative power.

MORE TESTIMONIALS:

"I am in awe of what she was able to bring into being over the course of just two days. Seldom have I found a space held in such a grounded, empathetic and nurturing way. How we managed to cover as much ground as we did but still feel like there was plenty of room for play, discovery and reflection is a real testament to her as a teacher. She brought herself to the process as much as everyone else did, enabling a real breaking down of boundaries that led to some incredibly significant shifts for me. Throughout some very vulnerable expressions I never felt unsafe or worried. I have come away from the weekend with so many revelations that I will take onwards on my journey. Couldn't be more grateful - thank you Zuma."
Anna Brophy- Actor (Known for Netflix, Shadow and Bones Series)

“It's amazing, soul lifting, transformative work through liberating play and restores you to the very essence of who you are as a being... Loved the weekend."

Moniqa Islam- Past participant

"I was blown away by Zuma's Clown & Ritual workshop. The work went to great healing depths, whist also staying sublimely ridiculous and light. The extent of Zuma's passion and personal journey in these worlds shines through her facilitation, inviting us all to commit 100% to a hugely transformational experience. This work is authentic, healing and incredibly fun. Do not hesitate to work with her."

** The Pedagogy: **

The Clownlife pedagogy is focused on self research through the art and practice of clown with a strong focus on well-being and mindful living, honouring and uplifting the expression of our uniquely ridiculous selves.

In this way, Clown is not just a performance expression but a philosophy and way of life. A life of connection, expressive freedom, play, humour, authenticity, honesty, presence, intuition, risk, commitment and the ability to fail well. It's one thing to perform clown but another to adopt the profound teachings into your life beyond the stage. This is no easy feat, it's a deep developmental process unleashing your self-expression, understanding your limitations on a visceral level and taking courageous risks to express authentically before others.

💡 **Why Study With Zuma? **

This course was created to bring together the wisdom, philosophy, and transformational play of clowning — not just as performance, but as a way of expanding our lives beyond the ordinary.

Zuma offers a body of work developed through nearly two decades of study, facilitation, and performance — drawing from world-class clown training, ritual arts, personal development, and deep inner work. Her teaching is bold, embodied, and deeply attuned to the people in the room. If you’re someone who yearns to live more deeply, more playfully, and more genuinely… this course is for you. It’s not about becoming someone else.
It’s about coming home to more of who you are — and discovering what becomes possible when you do.
