About
Can work be our pleasure and our prayer? A guided co-working block Led by Pavel (Pasha) Chvykov where we learn to transform our resistance into insight, and our work into a loving-kindness meditation - practicing presence with the living reality of our work.
For years I kept meditation and work in separate boxes - presence on the cushion, grinding at the desk. Work Alive (originally "Orgasmic Co-working" - had to rename for PR) came out of trying to bring them together, and treating the work itself as an ecology I live inside of, rather than something to get through.
Bring whatever you're making - research, a grant, writing, a creative project, a pile of emails - and we'll work on it side by side across several deep-work blocks, framed by grounding meditations, intention setting, dance-breaks, pair-shares, and sitting with our resistance. The practice is to slow down enough to notice the relationship you're actually in with your work, where it sticks and where it flows, and to find some pleasure and depth right there in it.
Resilience grows from staying in contact with what's real, including the resistance - and I find this is much easier in company. A room of people each wrestling with their own thing, and checking in on each other along the way, turns out to be a small form of mutual aid.
Come as you are, bring your work and a laptop or notebook.
