As an artist working in the modern world do you feel like you're swimming in the open ocean, no life jacket and shark infested waters?

Join us for our inaugural Artists Community Social. Artists always have a higher rate of success working together. The era of silos is coming to an end and it begins with connecting in person. This event is an opportunity to meet other working artists in the community and seriously discuss the realities of what it’s like to be an artist in the world today.

It features community mingling, group discussions, breakout sessions and breakout group report outs.

It’s open to artists of every level from hobbyist to professional. A thriving creative community has space and opportunity for everyone.

Hosted by Distributed Creatives, a non-profit that builds local-first systems that scale worldwide, using open source software to move power and opportunity to creators and reduce dependence on centralized platforms. Our initial launch will be in Boulder and we’re hosting community events to bring the greater community of artists to the table as some of the key stakeholders for this project's success.

We're building infrastructure that empowers creatives to have a path for a sustainable career without extractive intermediaries. We believe a critical piece of that is creating empowered creative communities from the local up.

Our team has deep roots in Boulder. Matty Bovard, the co-founder, has been organizing art community and working as a poet here for 17 years.
