About

The purpose of this evening is to celebrate and share some of the last year of development work I’ve been doing courtesy of The Arts Council writing about the rivers Don and Spey. This work was done under the Develop Your Current Practice fund.

As this is a work in progress sharing, please don’t share any text on the day on social media , to avoid accidental publication.

What will happen?

  • 6.30-7pm exhibition of poems, drawing, photographs and film (tbc if this will be broadcast online, or whether the online showing will in fact begin at 7pm)
  • 7-8pm performance (aiming for 50 min running time) of poetry, sound, clown, though this may run longer
  • A request for some critique : ) and time for chat

**What will happen ** _ to me _ ?

  • You may be invited to take part in drawing, singing, dancing or any clowning that happens, but nobody has to do anything they don’t want to : )
  • Poems will be projected while spoken and captions will be used.
  • There may be some unusual sounds (including a whistle) and music, but no shouting.
  • There may be some limited audio description, including pre-recorded. Apologies that this is still uncertain and please feel free to check in with me further.
  • Susie might rest or meditate in front of/with you, during the performance and may well be resting during the exhibition part at the start, to manage fatigue.

Where?

  • Site Gallery, 1 Brown Street, Sheffield, S1 2BS, Studio 1, ground floor, through the cafe. Fully wheelchair accessible. There will be people on the door to greet you.
  • OR online, through choosing the appropriate ticket here and an email to you later with the relevant link.

Who’s coming?

Everyone who's helped me, inspired the work, supported somehow or with whom I’ve had the pleasure of connecting on this over the last year has been invited. Some of you may not know that you were in my mix, but you were! I’ll try to send out the invites in batches so you know if you are friends with folks coming, because it’s weird otherwise, isn’t it? If I’ve missed somebody out that you think would like to come, just let me know. Though this is, as I said above, a private event.
