About
A youth contemporary dance class for ages 13-17, led by local dance artist Esme Dunn-Crowley. Perfect for any teens interested in moving! The class will be contemporary-focused where you will learn some technique exercises, floorwork flows, improvisational tools, and short movement phrases. I aim to create a welcoming and inspiring environment that makes everyone feel comfortable and supported without the competitive nature of other dance schools and classes.
What to expect in the class:
A warm welcome and introduction,
A contemporary technique-based warm up,
An introduction to floor work, leading to a floor work phrase,
A longer movement phrase that we will add to each week,
A gentle cool down to end.
What to bring:
A water bottle
Socks
Trousers/leggings/joggers will be best for floor work
A jumper/layers
A hairband for longer hair
About Esme
I am a freelance dance artist currently based in Bath and the South West. Having trained on the BA (Hons) Dance course at Bath Spa University, I graduated with a first-class honours in 2025. In 2025 I co-founded Daughters of Reclamation, a women-led contemporary dance collective creating emotionally and politically charged, earth-centred works rooted in connection, reflection, and reclamation. Alongside my work with Daughters of Reclamation I am an individual dance artist with lots of energy and creativity to give! I am keen to begin facilitating, supporting, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of dancers, and make teaching a part of my career as a freelance dance artist.
You can find some examples of my movement style on my instagram page @esme.dunn.crowley.
For any questions or queries contact me via my email - e.dunncrowley@gmail.com
I hope to see you in the studio!
