About

Family friendly, hands in the earth community nature connection in a beautiful setting just outside Dartington.

For this Wild About Devon Project, we are looking for a group of interested young people (10 yrs +) who will monitoring our bird boxes at half moon field this year.

The first meeting will be on Saturday 7th March 2:30pm to see if there is any activity and if any birds are thinking of building a nest, we will also spend some time searching for harvest mouse nests to feed data in to the southwest harvest mouse survey.

2nd investigation Saturday the 21st of March 2.30pm to see if there is continuing nest making or if they've laid eggs and are sitting on the nests or if they're feeding young.

Then on Saturday the 4th of April. 2.30pm Hopefully by now we should be witnessing the birds flying in and out of the nest boxes to feed young chicks. We can count how many times they feed their young in 10 minutes and work out how many times of day they visit.
please let me know if you are interested. Miners must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Arrive and welcomes - 2pm
Concervation activities - 2.15 - 3.15pm 3.30 finish.
