About

Mother Nature has woken, the sap has risen, and there is abundance to be foraged amongst the trees and hedgerows.🌿

Spring is a potent and transformative season. In Ayurveda, it is the ideal time to gently clear the heaviness of winter and reawaken the body using the abundance of bitter, cleansing plants that emerge in early spring. These beautiful plant allies enliven us and support digestion and detoxification.

Join Wild Ayurveda in this interactive spring workshop combining the foundations of Ayurveda and foraging in our local lands.
The day will begin with a grounding introductory Ayurvedic workshop led by Sophie, where you’ll learn core seasonal principles and explore your own unique constitution (prakriti).

We will then have lunch surrounded by the beauty of Grow Wilder (please bring a packed lunch with you). After lunch, we will go on a gentle, sensory forage and I.D walk with forager, Rosa Seacombe. We will be exploring plants, mushrooms and herbs for health and food with a sprinkle of folklore. After our walk, we will apply what we have learned by making a delicious and nourishing spring green pesto to take home (if it lasts that long)!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners; no prior knowledge of Ayurveda or foraging is needed.

We'll be on the beautiful Grow Wilder grounds, in the Roundhouse. It has a log burner indoors and a fire pit situated outside, so we'll stay nice and cosy.

**Accessibility: ** Grow Wilder is a fairly flat site, but with some uneven ground. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Refunds: If you have unforeseen circumstances and are unable to make the event, please reach out, and we can arrange transferring your ticket to a future event, but unfortunately cannot offer refunds.

_ Private bookings can be organised with the hosts for up to 12 people; please do get in touch to discuss further. _

About Grow Wilder:
Avon Wildlife Trust has a vision for region-wide community-led action for nature’s recovery; a campaign we call ‘Team Wilder’. Team Wilder aims to raise understanding about the urgent need for change and provide learning to inspire and upskill people to take action, because the scale and urgency of change needed to protect nature will require all of us to take action.

Here at Grow Wilder, we support local people in creating the projects they want to make happen. Grow Wilder was established in 2012 as an urban growing hub, learning centre, and wildflower nursery. Through habitat & food demonstration sites, learning workshops, and community events, Grow Wilder connects people with nature, aiming to inspire restoration and conservation of natural habitats in Bristol and beyond.

Wildflower Nursery
Our Wildflower Nursery helps fund Grow Wilder’s ambitious work, as every purchase helps us to maintain the site and run events that bring communities together to share the wonder of the natural world. All the plants we grow are of local origin to Bristol, with many of our wildflower seeds being collected from AWT nature reserves. Find out more here: Grow Wilder
